Originally from New York, Dr. Fleischman received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University. After a year of traveling abroad, she pursued her life-long goal of becoming a veterinarian and received her DVM degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. From New York, she moved to California where she completed a one-year Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego.

Upon completion of her Internship, Dr. Fleischman realized a second long-time dream by moving to the great state of Colorado, where she practiced Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at the Animal ER in Littleton. She left Colorado after two years and returned to New York where she completed a rigorous two-year Residency Program in Internal Medicine at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City.

Now finished with her Residency, Dr. Fleischman has enthusiastically moved back to Colorado and is thrilled to have joined the staff of VCA Veterinary Specialists of Northern Colorado.

Within the field of Internal Medicine, Dr. Fleischman's particular interests include endocrinology, hematology, immunology, and gastroenterology. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Fleischman is an avid mountain biker, skier, backpacker, and generally enjoys spending time in the woods. She loves to travel and has been to Europe, Africa, Central America, Asia, and most recently, India and Nepal. She has spent one summer working with farmers in West Africa to improve animal husbandry practices, and another in Costa Rica as a wildlife rehabilitator. She also enjoys cooking, dancing, gardening, The Allman Brothers, and spending time with her two main men, Josh and "Sweet Pea" the cat.
