Franklin offers a unique charming small mountain town feel with plenty of options for dining, shopping, museums, breweries, activities, events, and much more. Franklin is considered the "Gem Capital of the World", where you can mine for precious stones, explore the natural beauty of the Nantahala Forest, check out the Little Tennessee River, or enjoy one of the many festivals put on by the town. This is the place to go to kayak or visit Lake Fontana, fly above the trees with Mountaintop Zip line tours, or test your skills at the Zip Line Adventure Park. River trips and rafting are among the many things to do, and there are also packages that include multiple excursions.
