Welcome to Apple Hill Haven, our beloved family home in Tuxedo, North Carolina newly listed on VRBO. Apple Hill Haven recently underwent an extensive renovation 2021-2023 and is brand new from top to bottom. The house is located on Apple Hill, just up the road from Camp Greystone, and overlooks beautiful Lake Summit. Use of the boathouse on Lake Summit is included with renting Apple Hill Haven.

When you arrive to Apple Hill Haven you will first see the welcoming front porch with rocking chairs and a swing. The main/top floor has an open concept living/dining/kitchen design with floor to ceiling windows offering views of Lake Summit. The living room has a wood burning stone fireplace and vaulted ceiling, and the eat-in kitchen has a large dining table and top of the line appliances. Off of the kitchen is a porch and a “Carolina Room” with retractable glass doors that open to the porch. The porch has a built-in gas grill and ample seating, including a picnic table for meals outside. Also on the main floor is a half-bathroom and enormous primary suite with a luxurious dual sink bathroom, walk in closet, and private porch overlooking the lake.

Downstairs has a central bonus room with a TV and seating area, and off of the bonus room are 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms: 1 king bedroom with a private en-suite bathroom, 1 queen bedroom with a private en-suite bathroom, 1 bedroom with a queen bed and jack and jill bathroom that opens to the hall, 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds, and 1 bunk room with 2 bunk beds (4 twin beds). The twin bedroom and bunk room have access to a full hall bathroom as well as the jack and jill bathroom. There are covered porches off of the bonus room and one of the queen bedrooms. Downstairs there is also a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer and “Champ’s Corner” – a small room for a dog with a Dutch door located under the stairs. There are televisions in the living room, Carolina Room, primary bedroom, downstairs bonus room, and downstairs king bedroom.

The views of Lake Summit are the central focus of this home, and each room, bedroom, and porch offers beautiful views of the lake and mountains. With so many lovely views and spaces, it is hard to decide where to spend your time! Relax and unwind in the rocking chairs, bench swings, or hammock. There is a built-in stone fire-pit in the backyard for roasting s’mores and firewood is provided for your use.

The boathouse is located on S. Lake Summit road, directly below the house. The boathouse is accessible either by (1) walking down wooden stairs at the back of the house and crossing S. Lake Summit Road, or (2) driving down Apple Hill Lane, taking a right on S. Lake Summit Road, and parking in front of the boathouse. You may enjoy the various water toys (kayaks, tubes, noodles) in the downstairs closet at the boathouse.

Use of the boathouse and stairs leading to the boathouse is entirely at your own risk. Renters will be emailed a Release of Liability for use of the boathouse prior to their stay. A signed copy must be returned to the owners at least 1 week before check-in.

Lake Summit and the surrounding areas are delightful all year round. Flat Rock is 5 miles away, Saluda is 8 miles, Hendersonville is 9 miles, Brevard is 25 miles, and Asheville is 34 miles away. There is no shortage of things to do in this special place no matter the season you choose to come. Summer is a dream on the lake, and fall is especially magical with the changing leaves and fresh mountain air.

Miscellaneous information:
Bed linens and bathroom towels are provided.
Each bedroom has a Tempurpedic mattress, wooden blinds, and blackout shades.
A full size crib is available upon request.
There are 2 desks in the home (1 in the primary suite and 1 in one of the downstairs Queen bedrooms).
A variety of books are available for your pleasure in the primary suite and downstairs bonus room.
Apple Hill Haven is equipped with fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
The kitchen has a Keurig coffee maker.
The house is pet-friendly to well-behaved dogs under 50 lbs. with a $250 fee.
The house sleeps 14 people comfortably and seats 14 comfortably in the kitchen and dining areas.
There is ample parking (up to 6 vehicles).
