Built in 2023, SunnySide Up combines the charm of a mountain cabin with the comforts of home. Our guests often tell us it's even better than they expected, and we can't wait for you to experience it for yourself.

One of the things that makes SunnySide Up unique is that both bedrooms feature comfortable king beds with private en-suite bathrooms, making it perfect for two couples, friends traveling together, or parents who appreciate a little extra privacy.

SunnySide Up welcomes dogs! Please be sure to select the pet option when booking so the pet fee is included. We also ask that dogs be kenneled if left alone in the cabin.

The Boring Stuff (We Tried to Make It Less Boring)

Mountain Roads

You're coming to the Smoky Mountains, so yes...there are mountains! The last stretch includes one gravel hill. It's well maintained, and most guests have no trouble in a standard vehicle. We regularly drive it in a Hyundai Sonata. Just keep a steady speed (around 10 mph), and you'll do great. We recommend arriving before dark if it's your first visit.

Bringing Your Pup?

Dogs are welcome! 🐾

Please be sure to include them when booking so the pet fee is added correctly. We ask that dogs be kenneled if left alone in the cabin.

(Dogs only. Sorry...our insurance company isn't ready for vacationing llamas.)

What We Provide

We stock the cabin with many of the things you'll need:

You'll want to bring shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and any personal items.

Fire Pit

We'll provide a few starter pieces of firewood to get things going. Need more? Every nearby grocery store and gas station carries bundles.

Pack 'n Play and high chair available upon request. Just let us know before you arrive.

Smoke-Free Cabin

Smoking or vaping inside the cabin isn't permitted. Ashtrays are available outside on the porch. This is strictly enforced.

Road Noise

SunnySide Up is conveniently located just off US-74, making it easy to get to all the area's attractions. While you'll occasionally hear traffic when you're outside, the surrounding trees provide privacy, and most guests feel the convenience is well worth it.

Winter Weather

Mountain weather can change quickly. Please keep an eye on the forecast before traveling. Because weather is beyond anyone's control, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance if winter travel is planned.

Located in Whittier, this cabin is in the mountains. Great Smoky Mountains Railroad and Jackson County Historic Courthouse are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Oconaluftee Visitor Center. Country Side Bowling Lanes and Cherokee Botanical Garden and Nature Trail are also worth visiting. Kayaking and water tubing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking and horse riding nearby.
