Kirk is a fourth-generation Washingtonian whose family has lived on Capitol Hill since the late 1800s, and where he continues to live today with his wife and two children. Kirk's Great-Grandmother, Margaret, purchased this 1890 Victorian home In 1905 to entice one of her two daughters to raise her own family in the neighborhood. Kirk's Great Aunt, Nell, and her husband, John, raised their 12 children in this home.
In 2008 at the behest of Kirk's 82-year-old cousin, Kirk's family purchased the house from relatives who had owned or lived in the house since 1905, and then they spent over two years meticulously restoring and renovating the home, blending old-world Victorian charm and ambiance with new world appliances and technology.
Today, Kirk's family, now a fifth generation of Washingtonians, are honored to offer you the opportunity to experience residential living in the newly updated guesthouse, right in the heart of our Nation's Capitol, at the Historic Eastern Market on Capitol Hill!
Located in Capitol Hill, a neighborhood in Washington, this vacation home is near theme parks. Washington Monument and White House are notable landmarks, and some of the area's popular attractions include Smithsonian Institution and National Air and Space Museum. National Museum of Natural History and Smithsonian's National Zoo are not to be missed. Sailing and swimming offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding and hiking nearby.
