The Space:

We can sleep up to 4 guests in our lovely one bedroom english basement apartment, great for a young family or 2 professionals traveling together.  There is a queen sized bed in the bedroom, and a full sized sofa bed in the living area. 
The cleverly designed kitchen area comes complete with everything you need for preparing meals.  Breakfast bar seating for 4 guests is great for map perusing before starting the day of exploring, and doubles as a laptop friendly workspace, great for catching up on emails before taking on the city resting outside your door. 
Excellent WIFI (77.9 mbps download; 82.8 upload) for those traveling for work, and the smart TV is perfect for unwinding the kiddos after traversing the District, while you relax with a glass of wine! Head to one of the many nearby attractions (the Congressional Cemetary is a short stroll away, as is the DC Armory), or artisanal coffee shops and experience the city like a local.

Guest Access:

Guests will have access to the entire lower level unit, it is not shared.
There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.
The Neighborhood:

While DC is a city, it's one filled with parks and not by tall buildings. (This is hardly The Concrete Jungle!) Capitol Hill is very multicultural and very family friendly, but also has everything singles might want!
This quiet corner of iconic Capitol Hill feels close to all the action, but far enough away to ensure restful nights - a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle!
Aside from being so close to the United States Congress, Capitol Hill is the largest historic residential neighborhood in Washington DC stretching easterly in front of the United States Capitol along wide avenues. It is one of the oldest residential communities in Washington, and, with roughly 35,000 people in just under 2 square miles (5 km2), it is also one of the most densely populated.
You`re also a very short walk, bus, metro or Uber ride from a number of other neighborhoods not to be missed; including Union Market, Chinatown, Gallaudet University, and the Navy Yard.
Getting Around:

You'll be able to take advantage of everything the city has to offer! Guests can be on the steps of the United States Capitol in 24 minutes, there is a convnient bus stop located 2 minutes on foot from the apartment. 
The closest metro is Stadium Armory Metro (Orange, Silver & Blue lines). Guests can walk there in under 5 minutes, and from there you can traverse the Nation`s Capitol with ease and speed! 
The Potomac Avenue Metro station (Orange, Silver & Blue lines) is a 15 minute stroll away. 
Prefer something more active? Several Capital Bikeshares are located short strolls away; they offer bike rentals by the hour at excellent rates - a truly awesome way to explore the city, the Potomac Tow Path, the Anacostia Waterfront, and nearby Virginia and Maryland!  Cultivate a cinematic experience and bike to the National Mall in 15 minutes!
Walk to the lively Eastern Market / Barracks Road neighborhood in just 20 minutes - guests will have no shortage of things to buy, see, and eat! Grocery stores, pharmacy and every other essential are just a few minutes walk from the home.

Southeast, a neighborhood in Washington, is home to this apartment. Washington Monument and White House are notable landmarks, and travelers looking to shop may want to visit Union Station Shopping Center and Fashion Center at Pentagon City. Smithsonian Institution and National Air and Space Museum are not to be missed.
