TEMPORARILY LOST SUPERHOST STATUS DUE TO GUEST CANCELLATIONS DURRING RECENT SEVERE WEATER~LOTS OF RAIN!! But Don't Worry; the SUN IS BACK!!

The Guest Apartment is designated as just that - Attached but separate from the main house. Housekeeping and some activity in the main house from 9-3 weekdays; home office is above the guest lounge.
Landsape, spa and water wall maintainence on Teusday, between 2 - 4. TheSecretGarden takes a bit of work!!

A place for you to enjoy and "chillax" - uncluttered and serene space, calming tones of grey, a minimalist design aesthetic with a few flourishes of antiquity; but strong WiFi indoors and out!

Per Airbnb "Guest suites have a private entrance and are inside of or attached to a larger structure like a house or garage. These are sometimes called in-laws." Got it?? Smile ~ Just would like my guests to be happy travelers and clearly understand that the guest suite does share a soundproofed wall with the main residence. OK - pretty sure everyone now understands this - sorry for the redundancy - but this detail seems to be missed by some potential guests.

Off street parking in the driveway for one car - right next to your own private gate and private keypad lock front door. Off street parking for a second vehicle is readily available.

I leave my guests to enjoy the apartment & TheSecretGarden’ with its elegant vaccouterments, including hot tub, gas fire pit, custom 'water wall' , BBQ and multiple seating/lounging areas ~ complete privacy.
Apartment has its own separate vacuum but - but please don't book if you have SEVERE cat allergies as some of the neighboorhood cats like to occasionally 'hang' on the patio - really who can blame them!

Both the "Lounge" complete with kitchenette (see pictures) & separate bedroom have been amended with soundproofing so that if you shut the door to either the ‘Lounge’ or the bedroom you probably won’t be able to hear your cell phone ring from the patio table outside or what is on the TV in the other room.

If staying more than two nights please send a message or text to my phone BEFORE 12 NOON asking for your room to be made up - (between noon and two 2 pm ) fresh bath and beach towels, bed made with fresh linens, etc.

All of my long time staff respect guest privacy as do I.

‘The Lounge’ offers an ample desk/chair for working; Or figuring out where to dine on Main Street - plethora of great dining options! A beautiful 1920's sofa, freshly reupholstered in grey velvet, along with a large sleek vintage round black leather ottoman and a 50” TV with Netflix, Amazo, Hulu, BritBox & most stations offering mystery murder series LOL. Also a small, but not tiny refrigerator/freezer stocked with a bottle of complimentary good California Chardonnay or Voinger , a few bottles.cans of our local craft brew - and of course water flat & fizzy ( please let me know in advance if you prefer an emty frigdge/freezer)

For your use a microwave, toaster oven, quick to heat electric kettle, and Kurig w/ an assortment of coffees and teas; cream, sugars,; Almost forgot to mention my apparently ‘semi famous’ snack bowl with lots of good stuff including; The fifth food group, CHOCOLATE, in various forms! Gluten Free Options too!!

In hallway between the lounge and the bedroom you will find, well –La te dah -a closet containing beach chairs a small cooler ( just let me know if you need ice and/or a bigger cooler) Pristine white bathrobes in multiple sizes; - the little extras that make this listing a bit more ' Lux Hotel’ than home-stay.

The serene bedroom offers a Quality Queen bed w/ memory foam topper dressed in white bespoke Italian (FRETTE) bed linens and the and multiple pillow choices ( as if 4 were not enough check the large closet for more pillows) nightstands on both sides and lights with 110 v outlets & USB chargers. Also a 42” TV with Amazon, Netflix, Sling , Brit Box & PBS Masterpiece, etc.

Both the Lounge and the Bedroom have remote controlled ceiling fans and overhead lighting. The automatic AC is set to 68 degrees at night and 72 during the day most of the year. Should you find the coastal beach weather (a micro-climate all its own) chilly provided portable electric space heaters and/or extra blankets. Please note I am very picky about sanitation with all bed/bath linens and well – everything else. (Yes the TV remotes and light switches are sanitized between guests.) PLEASE UNPLUG SPACE HEATERS BEFORE USING THE TOASTER OVEN - I am working to resolve this slight inconvenience.

The Private bathroom has a shower/tub Fluffy Spa quality towels and plenty of extra 'stuff' - like the things TSA perhaps enjoyingly confiscated! Or the toothbrush or hairspray you forgot to pack last minute. Hairdryer yep - and a linen closet with extra towels. William Roam toiletry collection provided for your enjoyment - not too smelly, high quality & if you actually have read this far I DO intend for you to take home anything you have used - the the half full shampoo or conditioner or body wash and definitely used soaps!! I do not like 'dispensers' as they are ~ in my opinion 'germy'. EEWEH.

My ever evolving house manual ( slowly moving online here at airbnb) provides instructions for TV's, hot tub, BBQ Etc. and most importantly a few tips about the local beaches, 'things to investigate' and of course where the ever involving 'food scene'. Some 'hiden gems' that only locals know of!

Guests are welcome to enjoy all of the outdoor areas including the hot tub and fire pit and numerous seating/lounging areas. They are yours and yours alone to enjoy and you will not be bothered by humans, other than rare maintainance staff, Neighboorhood cats, Squirls, possums, the occasional raccoon (usually Olivia), sometimes visit.

Please note that laundry facilities are not provided unless prior arrangements have been made.

Get your grill on! Nearby your private front door w/ table and chairs. A Chefemate Grill , w/ side burner; tools are in the apartment ( look above the hall closet for pots, pans etc) with sink in the kitchenette anything is possible ( salt, pepper, pantry staples provided) - Best stealk or local seafood ( Main Street Meats - and Ocean Pride Seafood. Good knives and cutting boards etc - no worries if you decide to 'staycation' at Valmore. Wonderful Sat Farmers market!

Propane tank ( there is a gauge attached) will be at least half full - have spare nearby.

Other things to note
OLIVIA is a semi feral Raccoon who lives next door in my neighbor’s yard - she is non aggressive and monitored by the CA Urban Wildlife persons - she occasionally comes for a dip in the fountain - Please do not engage her - yes she eats cat food - she is semi blind and those of us who adore her wish for her a happy life until she must go to a wildlife sanctuary. A chance meeting would be extremely rare - but as long as you just be a natural observer - All will be fine - and you might have a few great photos. UPDATE; Olivia had baby in 2022 and brings her over for a 'dip' in the local pool (my water wall) AS asked please do not engage but enjoy her from the cofmort of the deck. Olivia and her offspring are monitered by CA Urban Wildlife program and her breeding sucess has lead to INVALUABLE researach regarding keeping wild racoons from inbreeding, and other 'stuff'! Apparently she has found a regular 'date' as samples have confirmed her last several offspring fathered my same male. Kind of sweet!

Most importantly during your visit COMMUNICATE - I'm a pretty reasonable personal an open to ideas and suggestions. If you are inviting friends over, PLEASE let me know in advance - THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE.

However have hosted weddings and baby showers and even a 50th anniversary party complete with a 12 piece string ensemble. Event fees vary and are limited to 26 persons, Please enquire.

To all prospective guests, stated again - please communicate - when you check in, when you depart and of course should my or my assistants be able to help in ANY way - from floral arrangements to last minute auto snafus!
