The fort's official mandate was to safeguard the mouth of the Savannah River from invaders, which it fulfilled until the end of World War II. The fort's Battery Garland once held munitions, but since the mid-20th century, it has housed museum exhibits. Fort Screven also boasts the Tybee Post Theater, which underwent renovation and reopening in 2015. Now, you can attend movies and concerts there.

Stop by the Fort Screven Guardhouse, originally a jail but now converted to the Tybee Island Community Center. Be sure to swing by Officer's Row as well, one of the island's swankiest neighborhoods.

The 145-foot Tybee Light Station is impossible to miss from the North Beach parking lot. The first iteration of this historic structure dates to 1736, and the current edifice was built in 1773. While enjoying the area, be sure to walk along the Savannah River trail. It's a great place to see a wealth of native flora and fauna. Our guests have access to our beautiful, heated pool that is located at 19 Silver Ave, Tybee Island, GA 31328. For our Savannah properties it is a scenic 25-minute drive through Wilmington and Whitemarsh Island, taking you over the Savannah River Delta onto Tybee Island.
The Pool is open during the below dates and times.

March 1 - Oct 31: Open 7 days a week from 10am-5pm.
Nov 1 - Feb 28/29: Open Friday and Saturday from 10am-5pm
