Hiking and biking are right out the front door, with mountain and river trails. Other rivers, such as the North Branch of the Potomac, the Casselman and the Yock are nearby, as well as some of the best wild Brook Trout streams in the country. Kayak or canoe on Savage River Lake/Reservoir just a few minutes away, or visit Deep Creek Lake 12 miles away. If you are looking for a getaway without all of the congestion and noise of Deep Creek Lake, take a look at the Savage River and all it has to offer.
