A beautiful cottage, in quiet countryside, with a private swimming pool and lots of outside space where guests can relax. This charming converted farm house sleeps up to 6 people and makes a wonderful base for a relaxing holiday in the famous region of Savinjska.

The house is set on the hillside and has 3 storeys, including a wine cellar on the lower ground floor, where guests can enjoy a relaxed glass of delicious local wine. The first floor is on the garden level and includes a charming veranda with a bar and wooden table and chairs for meals al fresco.

Back inside the décor is an attractive combination of stone walls, wooden floors and contemporary furniture. The ground floor consists of an open-plan living/dining room furnished with a modern sofa and a wooden dining table. The separate kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, oven and fridge/freezer.

Wooden stairs lead up to the 2nd floor and tucked under the eaves is another seating area with a large corner sofa and TV. The bedrooms and bathroom lead off a spacious landing.

The fenced garden is ideal for children. In addition to the swimming pool with sun loungers, there is a children’s playground, complete with swings and a climbing frame.

Location
Halfway between Ljubljana and Zagreb, this cottage is in the heart of Savinja, famous for its protected countryside, with mountains and unspoiled forests. Guests can enjoy escaping into beautiful landscapes with hiking and cycling routes nearby.

Ljubljana (1 hour 40 minutes) makes a fascinating day trip, but closer to home is the town of Ptuj (35 minutes) which is the oldest town in Slovenia. Ptuj is a gem of a town, full of things to see, from Roman ruins to impressive Baroque architecture. The town’s castle is home to the Regional Museum, with a stunning view over Ptuj. Every February (15th – 25th) the town hosts the Kurentovanje Festival, Slovenia’s largest carnival. Local residents don masks and costumes to scare away winter. This is the first of many annual fairs and events throughout the year.

Over the border in Croatia, the Neanderthal Museum in the town of Krapina (35 minutes) is well worth a visit.

Ljubljana’s international airport is a 1 hour 55 minute drive. Please note that the pool is open from the 1st of June 2025 to the 1st of September 2025
