Dr. Nathaniel Fenollosa graduated from the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. As a student at Tufts, he co-authored an extensive research study on the population characteristics and survival of cats with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Upon graduation, Dr. Fenollosa completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, MA. Following his internship Dr. Fenollosa completed a cardiology residency also at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston. After completing his cardiology residency training, Dr. Fenollosa moved to Western Massachusetts to join the specialty staff at Angell Animal Medical Center Western New England in Springfield, MA. Dr. Fenollosa became board certified in the specialty of cardiology in July of 2005. In addition to his duties as a staff cardiologist, Dr. Fenollosa served as Internship Director at Angell Western New England. His special interdisciplinary interests include management of chronic heart disease, endocarditis, and pulmonary hypertension. Outside of work, Dr. Fenollosa enjoys spending time outdoors with his young family, hiking, snowshoeing, boating, and playing ice hockey. Dr. Fenollosa has two pets: Maddie, a retriever mix and Beep, a scruffy tabby cat who's always trying to elevate his position within the family hierarchy. Dr. Fenollosa joined the staff at the VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in May of 2007.
