Jeanne’s Alki Beach Cottage
This newly renovated, in Dec. 2021, (with brand new bathroom, all new kitchen and laundry appliances, all new furniture, new linens, new beds, (mattresses etc.), and AC (AC is winterized and turned off oct 10 until May), 750 sf cottage, has history and charm along with modern conveniences. the cottage has a side yard, front yard and a private patio with furniture. the cottage is less than a block from the water taxi shuttle bus stop that takes you to the water taxi which takes you to the seattle water front near the major stadiums, and downtown seattle and walking distance to Pike Place Market and then a short walk to Westlake Center where you can catch the monorail to the Space Needle. with the water taxi it makes it easy to stay in lovely Alki and yet be close to the attractions of downtown Seattle and the stadiums without having to drive and pay exorbitant fees to park. the shuttle is free and as of this writing in 2022 the water taxi was $5 per person.

It is my goal to give my guests the best experience i possibly can and for the cottage to be a get away vacation spot or work away from home, the type of place i would want to experience when traveling. Therefore, I have tried to make it warm, inviting (nice artwork on walls etc), peaceful and comfortable with luxurious beds ( mattresses are coil spring with memory foam toppers) and linens, comfortable furniture, a well equipped kitchen (coffees, teas, spices, oatmeals, snacks, candy jar, plenty of pots, pans, mixing bowls, small appliances and much more) with welcoming snacks, eggs and muffins for a do it yourself breakfast, variety of oatmeals, and a new sparkly bright bathroom and numerous other amenitiies .

Great environment for either vacation or a ‘work from home’ space. We provide a computer desk with electrical outlets and usb ports, and it fits in either bedroom, folds and easy to move.

2 bedrooms, laundry room, kitchen, living room, dining area, private patio with table, chairs, umbrella and lounges. High speed wifi (we pay for 300 mbps, sometimes we get more, sometimes a bit less, it's comcast), in house, laundry room with washer dryer, comfy living room and dining room. 50" smart TV. Lots of electrical outlets and usb ports (each end table and nighjt stand is equipped with outlets and ports).

End tables and night stands all have electrical outlets and usb ports for your convenience.

Roomy and bright bedrooms with night stands (equipped with electrical outlets and usb ports) and lamps on each side of beds, closets, dressers, luggage racks etc.

fully equipped kitchen if you like to cook plenty of pans, baking pans, mixing bowls etc. Dishes are vintage pottery and we also have children's dinnerware (bpa free). Various electrical appliances. Free snacks and beverages plus breakfast foods (complimentary one dozen eggs & package of 6 English muffins plus electric egg cooker to make it easy), oatmeal, coffee, coffee mate, tea, hot chocolate. We provide a selection of condiments such as mayo, ketchup, mustard, jams, peanut butter, butter, margarine etc. and numerous spices plus honey, sugar, non sugar sweetener, instant soups and much more.

Self Check-in: a combination lock is on the front door, just punch in the 4 digit combination we give you and turn the deadbolt knob to the right to unlock. To lock, just push the oval button on top and turn the knob to the left. If you are trying to use it after dark and can’t see the numbers, you just push the oval button on top once and it will light up the numbers.

You have the entire house to yourself

This is a lovely residential neighborhood, beach, restaurants and coffee shops a short walk away. there is excellent bus service to surrounding areas (bus stop within about one block from cottage). Parking is on-street only, no off street parking. The water taxi shuttle stops about 1.5 blocks or so away and takes you to the water taxi that takes you to the Seattle waterfront and all it's offerings, including a short walk to Pike Place Market and near the stadiums (depending on how much you like to walk, you may wish to take a bus/uber/taxi from the water taxi at seattle waterfront to the stadiums

Other things to note
This 750 sf cottage was Recently renovated. When remodeling, we tried to keep the vintage and yet incorporate modern conveniences in the kitchen and a new bathroom and a laundry room.
We are told that this cottage is one of the last few surviving cottages that originally sat on Alki Beach, and were later moved to 64th Ave SW along with Doc Maynard’s house, which is just a half block away, and has been lovingly restored.Doc Maynard was one of the original founders of West Seattle and Seattle proper and rather a character. We suggest reading Sons of The Profits, if you are interested in a real look at the history of Seattle.

It’s a short walk to excellent beach dining, coffee shops , and other activities, fun rentals such as. Bicycles, kayaks etc.. plus extensive bus service and the water taxi shuttle that takes you to the water taxi which takes you to the Seattle Water Front area, from there you can walk to the aquarium pike place market, monorail etc.

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in West Seattle, a neighborhood in Seattle. Pike Place Market and Northgate Station are worth checking out if shopping is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Alki Beach and Lake Washington.
