Dr. Roof grew up riding horses and helping veterinarians around the barn. At the age of 12, she decided she wanted to be a veterinarian. Dr. Roof continued to pursue this passion over the next few years, working in veterinary clinics and obtaining a bachelor degree in biomedical science at Texas A&M University.

After years of hard work and dedication, she graduated from Louisiana State University with a doctorate in veterinary medicine. Early in vet school, Dr. Roof became interested in the specialty of oncology. The new advances in cancer research and treatment options were compelling and led her into this field. Post graduation, she completed a rotating medicine and surgical internship at the Veterinary Specialists of South Florida. After her internship, Dr. Roof joined the oncology team at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists.

Dr. Roof enjoys giving hope to animals that have been diagnosed with cancer and is continually motivated by the devotion of her clients to their four-legged family members. This has given her the strength to provide support to cancer patients and make a difference in their lives. When not at work, Dr. Roof enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Lela and Ginny, the kitty cat, Bonsai and riding her horse, Belle.
