ANTHONY GUERINO, DVM - PORTSMOUTH, NH

Dr. Anthony Guerino was born in central Massachusetts and graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in physiology. He returned home to attend veterinary school at Tufts University, where he graduated in 1989.

Dr. Guerino knew at a very young age that he wanted to be a veterinarian. At 14, he began to work at a local animal hospital. He continued there over the next 12 years doing everything from cleaning and maintenance to answering the phone and assisting in surgery. Shortly after graduation from veterinary school, he took on the position of Medical Director at VCA Animal Medical Center, where he remains today.

Dr. Guerino treats all companion animals, but has a special interest in avian and exotic pets. He is a member of AAZ, ARAV and AEMV and sees pets from all over New England. It’s not unusual to see birds, ferrets and reptiles sitting next to one another in the waiting room.

He lives in Durham, NH with his three children, two cats, and a dog. When he’s not in the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his children and traveling.
