Our 10-bedroom Lodge, accommodating up to 29 guests, offers an ideal setting for family reunions or group getaways. The Lodge is located at Deer Valley Ranch, a community that features a blend of rental cabins and private residences, all with access to shared ranch amenities such as the geothermal pool and hot tubs, trails, sports court, and yard games.

The Lodge is not a traditional house. It is like a small hotel, with 10 hotel style rooms and a common space. The common space is similar to a hotel lobby. The common space offers a seating area, fireplace, dining room, and access to a kitchen. While the Lodge rooms, common space, dining room, and kitchen will only be available to your group, please read the entire listing description for more information about the common area, staff access, and the unique kitchen setup.

Events: Do not book the Lodge to host a wedding or event. The lodge is a great accommodation option for events contracted through Deer Valley Ranch, but events are a separate booking directly with the ranch. Parties and events require a separate contract and cannot be booked through VRBO. If you are caught hosting an undisclosed event, you will be asked to leave and will not receive a refund.

Catering Kitchen Access:
Our property features a unique kitchen setup. The kitchen was designed to be used by caterers preparing meals for large groups. You are welcome to bring in a caterer or use the kitchen to prepare meals yourself. We refer to the kitchen that is available for guest use as the "Catering Kitchen." Please keep this in mind when reading the following:

The Lodge has two kitchens: a commercial kitchen that is NOT for guest use and a Catering Kitchen that IS for your use. These kitchens are separated by a curtain. Staff will be present in the commercial kitchen, meaning that you can hear them when you walk into the Catering Kitchen. Please see the photo of the lodge layout to understand the kitchen access. The catering kitchen offers plates, silverware, and glassware for 27.

The Catering Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and catering needs. While it is not a space designed for gathering or entertaining, it’s perfect for meal preparation. It includes all the standard appliances like a stove, oven, fridge, and dishwasher, as well as pots, pans, and utensils. The kitchen was recently renovated, with a functional design focused on efficiency. Whether you're preparing meals for a group or working with a caterer, the kitchen is designed to serve its purpose in a straightforward and practical way.

Communal Seating Area:
The common space, with a seating area, fireplace, and dining room, is like a hotel lobby. We will post signs on the exterior of the common space doors to notify other guests of the ranch that the lodge is closed for your group. The doors to these areas do not lock. Each individual room is equipped with a lock, like a hotel room.

Housekeeping:
The staff may enter the Lodge to refresh the communal bathroom and common space during your stay. Our maintenance team may also enter the Lodge to tend to the fireplace and restock firewood or for any maintenance issues. We try to limit interruptions and clean or restock while your group is away.

The Lodge experience is akin to booking all of the rooms in a hotel: Staff will never access guests' rooms, but will possibly be seen refreshing the common space, just like staff would refresh a hotel lobby.

Security Cameras:
Security cameras are in place to monitor the exterior entrances of the property for your safety. The Lodge is occasionally used for events (do not book the lodge through VRBO for events), and security cameras are used inside during these times. Rest assured, for your stay, all indoor cameras will be deactivated, ensuring privacy for your group. Pools and ranch amenities are under video surveillance for the safety of all guests staying on the property.

Ranch Amenities (shared with other guests on the ranch):
-Hot Spring Pool & Hot Tubs: Relax in a hot spring-fed swimming pool and two hot tubs, open year-round. Pool & hot tubs are shared with other guests.

-Sports Courts & Cornhole: Stay active with our multi-use sports courts featuring basketball hoops, tennis, pickleball, and volleyball nets. For a laid-back activity, enjoy a friendly game of cornhole with family or friends.

-Chalk Cliffs: Discover the historic Chalk Cliffs, renowned for their striking, chalky texture and stunning views. These unique formations are created by mineral-rich waters from the surrounding hot springs. Enjoy easy access to the trail right on the property for access to the Chalk Cliffs.

Location:
Conveniently located in Nathrop, CO, between Buena Vista (20 minutes away) and Salida (30 minutes away), our lodge is the perfect base for exploring the natural beauty of the area. Enjoy nearby outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and skiing. Explore the nearby trails of Mount Princeton, one of Colorado’s iconic 14ers, just minutes from your doorstep.

Quiet Hours:
Ranch quiet hours are from 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM. We have a strict no-party policy. If you wish to host an event or wedding, it must be approved and booked directly through Deer Valley. Any unapproved events or weddings will result in your group being asked to leave immediately, without a refund. This listing is for lodging only.

Winter Access:
During late fall, winter, and early spring, a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle is required to access the lodge in the event of snow or icy conditions.

Accessibility:
Please note that stairs are required to access the lodge. Some rooms are located on the second floor.

Pool & Hot Tub: Hours are 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, except for Mondays. The pool will close at 7:00 PM for cleaning. Our pool and hot tubs are open year-round. Hot tubs may operate on a rotating schedule, with one occasionally closed for maintenance and cleaning. The pool and hot tubs are shared with other guests on the property. Like other hot springs in the area, we treat our geothermal-fed pool and hot tubs to maintain cleanliness and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all guests. The pool and hot tubs may be covered to preserve the temperature. Guests will be responsible for uncovering and recovering the pool.

Pets:
Pets are not allowed in The Lodge. We have other cabins on the property that allow dogs. Please see our other listings or message us for more information.

Outside Visitors:
No outside visitors are allowed. Only confirmed guests on the reservation may access the unit. If additional guests are found to be accessing the unit, your reservation will be canceled with no refund.

Families:
We have pack-n-plays available by request. Please message us directly if you need a pack-n-play.

Weddings and Events:
This listing is for lodging only. While Deer Valley Ranch offers wedding packages, weddings cannot be booked through this listing or on VRBO. This listing is for accommodations only.
