Set on a quiet wooded lane in Mars Hill, Ash Vale is the kind of mountain hideaway where the days stretch long and the to-do list shrinks to almost nothing. The home sits among the trees just twenty minutes north of downtown Asheville, close enough for a spontaneous brewery crawl or farm-to-table dinner, far enough that the loudest sound is usually birdsong.

Out back, a covered porch runs the length of the home — wood beams overhead, a long farmhouse table for family-style meals, and rocking chairs angled toward the trees. Fire up the gas grill on the deck, pour a glass of something cold, and settle in. The expansive deck wraps around for sunset lingering and stargazing once the night gets quiet.

Inside, the main living room is built for easygoing afternoons. Two oversized sofas face a stone fireplace and TV, with mountain-cabin touches throughout — exposed wood, warm lighting, and big windows pulling the forest in. The kitchen is fully equipped for everything from morning pancakes to a proper dinner spread, with a sunny breakfast nook and a separate dining area that seats the whole crew.

Downstairs, the game room is where rainy afternoons go to die — ping-pong table, plenty of room to spread out, and a second living area for movies or a quieter retreat from the action upstairs.
Three bedrooms sleep up to ten. The primary suite features a king bed and a private ensuite bath. The additional bedrooms offer flexible configurations for families or friend groups, with two full bathrooms shared between them.

Mars Hill itself is a small Appalachian college town with a charming walkable downtown, easy access to the Appalachian Trail, and Wolf Ridge Ski Resort just up the road for winter visits. Asheville's restaurants, galleries, and music venues are a quick drive south — making Ash Vale an ideal base for exploring this corner of the Blue Ridge.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.
