As part of Prairiewood Tallgrass Preserve, guests have access to 600 acres of native and restored tallgrass prairie, including a private dock on Wildcat Creek with awaiting kayaks, miles of hiking and walking trails, and Walnut Pond picnic area with its surrounding Bird, Bee & Butterfly Sanctuary.

Cottonwood Suite at HomePlace is located along the Wildcat Creek watershed, down a sparsely populated rural gravel road flanked by riparian woods and tallgrass prairie. There is no parking on Wildcat Creek Road, but the private drive offers parking for guests.
