Located on 37 acres of a pristine mountain valley, the Bison Peak Lodge at Puma Hills is an amazing destination to select as your group's basecamp for adventures in central Colorado.

Form vivid memories and get out of your comfort zone with your family + friends as you explore the extensive marked trail system on our property and discover the labyrinth, hidden easter eggs, enjoy our outdoor games, disc golf course, and other amenities around our property.

Here, your options for adventure are endless: hiking or overnight backpacking in the Lost Creek Wilderness across the road, white water rafting, ATVing, hot air ballooning, fishing on gold medal waters, boating, horseback riding, snowmobiling, dog sledding, skiing + snowboarding + sledding – to name a few.

Even though you will be snuggled among the mountains, there is nothing primitive about our accommodations.

The Bison Peak Lodge is the sanctuary at the heart of our property - sleeping 11, with four bedrooms and 4.5 luxurious bathrooms, ensuring privacy and comfort for you and your guests.

The entire lodge has recently undergone a comprehensive renovation, boasting all new construction, furniture, and luxurious, modern amenities that enhance the timeless, rustic beauty of original lodge.

Enjoy epic sunrises and sunsets from the great room, with its tall floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Tarryall Peaks next to the large wood-burning fireplace. The great room has a variety of comfy seating options including down-filled pillows and sofa, a Bob Timberlake soft leather couch, and oversized lounge chairs, as well as fur-lined window seats and a dining room table able to accommodate up to 16 guests.

Our chef’s kitchen is located next to the great room and features a commercial-grade refrigerator + freezer, dishwasher, microwave, 6 burner gas range, flat griddle, and dual ovens.

Next to the great room, you'll find a half bathroom, our game room containing a custom-made pool table, gaming table, bar and a UHD smart TV, and our bunkroom, with a spacious en-suite full bath and featuring two bunk beds (one with a twin trundle) for a total of 5 twin beds.

Both the game room and the bunkroom offer access onto our covered back deck, where guests can enjoy views of the beautiful forests and mountains to the north.

As our guests, you'll get to enjoy the following amenities:

The lodge is part of a beautiful resort nestled in a unique private valley that is surrounded by over half a million acres of the Pike National Forest and Lost Creek Wilderness area. Lodge guests will have access to all the unique resort amenities while enjoying the exclusive use of the lodge.

Accommodations will be provided based on your guest count.

For up to 11 guests, you will be reserving the main Bison Peak Lodge.

In addition to the main lodge, we offer three cabins that each feature a queen bed and two twin beds and can accommodate up to 4 guests.

(These additional cabins can be added with a reduced guest count for an extra fee.)

The Jesse Russell Cabin is available for reservations up to 15 guests.
The Issac Russell Cabin is available for reservations up to 19 guests.
The Bison View Cabin is available for reservations for up to 22 guests.

Let us know if you would like to host a group of more than 11 guests and we will offer a simple, discounted group rate for any and all of these accommodations.

Again, let us know if you have a lower guest count than 11 but would like us to prepare the other cabins for your guests for an additional fee.

From May 15th - October 15th, in our "glamping village" upvalley, we offer a large community area where friends and family can gather to play, share memories or roast marshmallows around large wood-burning fire pits or in the event of a fire ban, any one of the large gas fire pits.

We also offer the following accommodations:

14 x bell-style glamping tents that can sleep an additional 2-4 guests each

3 x geodesic dome structures that can sleep an additional 2 guests each

2 x beautifully converted Conestoga wagon structures that can sleep an additional 2 guests each

3 x handmade tipis that can sleep an additional 2 guests each (king bed)

In total, we can provide over forty beds and sleep over 80 guests comfortably.

Bison Peak Lodge at Puma Hills is the perfect place for family reunions, corporate retreats and weddings. With the rental of the lodge, our guests have the opportunity to book cabins, tipis, conestoga wagons, and a variety of other unique glamping accommodations at a reduced price.

Your stay enables us to host family and solo retreats for war veterans and first responders experiencing PTSD free of charge. We are passionate about providing an enjoyable wilderness escape for you as well as those who have served.
