Inspired by lush natural landscaping and sweeping southwest views of the Pacific Ocean, the Tree House is a contemporary home that marries modern amenities with natural elements. Nestled in the historic community of Koloa in southern Kauai, the home is a series of pavilions constructed of cedar board and batten siding, glass railings, ipe wood decking, and corrugated roofing. Glass-railed passages connect private and shared spaces, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience ideal for both families and adults.
Entered via an elevated walkway surrounded by tropical greenery—enhancing the feeling of stepping into a secluded tree house—this private hillside residence offers upscale amenities such as a private pool, high-end kitchen, and vaulted ceilings. Designed by the renowned Pacific Northwest architecture firm Olson Kundig, the Tree House takes full advantage of Kauai’s trade winds, creating fresh breezes for an authentic island experience.
