This Custom Dodecahedral Cabin is set amid a peaceful neighborhood in Idyllwild, CA. The cozy, storybook home fits perfectly within the forest, dwarfed from its center by an Ancient Ponderosa Pine. Resting atop a full acre of private, old-growth forest, The Fox & Leopard Treehouse overlooks a seasonal stream which runs all the way down beneath the stone bridge at the entrance to the estate.

The space
The Fox & Leopard Treehouse comfortably accommodates six guests - two downstairs bedrooms feature a King, and Queen, respectively, while the spacious open-format loft above features two Twin beds. There are two bathrooms downstairs, each with their own bathtub. The large family room and kitchen are comfortable and inviting.

The (several) outdoor spaces are ideal for quiet meditation & reading while the treetop deck is simply lovely for bird watching. The acre is home to all manner of forest life - spot the stellar jays, bunnies, tree frogs, lizards, snakes, butterflies, dragonflies, coyotes, squirrels, chipmunks, deer and soon to be chickens!

The wrap around deck flows through an indoor-outdoor dining area, perfect for alfresco gatherings in Summer months, and a cozy place to enjoy the snowscape in the Winter. There is a miniature outdoor playhouse (outfitted with electricity!) that is wonderful for children's imaginations - or for an adult to truly zen out.

The 50" TV in the master bedroom is easy to use. Guests with their own streaming accounts can easily purchase TV shows and Movies. Bonus: there is a Super Nintendo for those of you feeling nostalgic.

Of Import:

CLEANLINESS: We disinfect all surfaces, door handles and common use areas/items (light switches, coffeemaker, spices, tea kettle) to ensure the health and wellbeing of our guests. You will be provided with disinfectant wipes for your stay + there are antibacterial dispensers for your use. We also kindly ask all guests that you remove your shoes inside the home whenever possible.

SMOKING or FIRE OF ANY KIND IS NOT ALLOWED:
Idyllwild is at very high fire risk, therefore we forbid smoking of any kind on our property (this goes for candle & incense use as well). We ask that our guests respect the mountain and its inhabitants by not smoking at any point during your visit to the forest.

However, the stone fireplace use is always available.

REGARDING NOISE & NEIGHBORHOOD RESPECT:
While we are on an acre and the dense trees create a lot of privacy, please be aware that sound carries on the mountain, we ask that you keep any excitable activity inside, with the doors and windows shut. Official "quiet times" are between 7:30pm - 7:30am every day. Parties of any nature are not welcome without explicit approval, and is enforceable by the Sheriff.

People come to live in and visit Idyllwild for an experience of peaceful quiet, we thank you in advance for helping to preserve the tranquil nature of our small town.

DAMAGES & THEFT: The Treehouse is not a corporate hotel, nor are we career hosts. We welcome you into our family cabin! For your enjoyment, the walls and tables feature some of our favorite treasures. Only the Pharmacopia toiletries and face masks provided are free to take home with you. An inventory list is checked after each stay. We are very child-friendly and understand that accidents happen, however - if something is carelessly broken or missing, you will be charged.

DOGS: We always present you with a clean cabin, free of pet dander or odors of any kind. We scan with a “UV Black-Light” after each and every guest, and we strictly enforce our damage policy with regard to pet staining, marking, or odors. Further, while we are dog lovers, barking and chasing frightens off the natural neighborhood wildlife.

For these reasons, dogs are absolutely not allowed.

PHOTO & FILMING: Meagan is a Photo Producer, if you wish to feature our Treehouse in your project, we are more than happy to discuss filming rates and scheduling. Out of respect to the local neighbors, no commercial filming or photography either in, on or around the house or property is allowed without explicit permission.

Located in Idyllwild, this chalet is in the mountains. Idyllwild Nature Center and Annenberg Theatre are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Camelot Park Family Center and Cabazon Dinosaurs. Boomers! Palm Springs and Mr. Rex Dinosaur Adventure are also worth visiting. Be sure not to miss outdoor adventures like hiking/biking trails and mountain climbing.
