For guests who want the cool comfort of AC when staying in our islands our beach vacation rental offers just that! While some of our guests prefer the tropical breezes, with windows and doors kept open and ceiling fans going, we realize some guests prefer and need the comfort of AC.

Our three bedroom beach house and studio units were given the name Hale Nani Ma Ka Lihi Kai which means, "Beautiful Home at the Ocean’s Edge". It was given by Kumu Hula's (teacher of hula) who visits us every year. They bring their Halau (school of dancers and musicians) to Hilo every year to compete in the World Famous Merrie Monarch Hula Festival.
Our vacation property is located a few steps from the ocean and beach where guests enjoy just lounging in the sun or swimming. Many of our guests enjoy exploring the ocean tide pools, seeing turtles feeding along the cliffs, and dolphins playing further out in the open ocean. A few minutes drive down the road there is a popular beach park Richardson's where guests also enjoy snorkeling, boogie boarding, and swimming.

Our older Kama'aina beach home includes an upstairs one bedroom unit, two bedroom downstairs unit, and an adjoining studio unit. Our beach property is very popular with multiple families who want to vacation together but have individual units for private times. There is also a large outdoor covered patio for grilling and dining. Families enjoy their evenings here while dining and listening to the ocean.

The upstairs one bedroom unit includes a queen bed in the bedroom and a queen futon sofa sleeper in one of the living rooms, full kitchen and bath, two living areas, and a large patio overlooking a pond and garden. Although, there are ceiling fans throughout, air conditioning is also available for those warm tropical nights. The downstairs unit provides a kitchen area with microwave, refrigerator and other small appliances, a living room and dining room area, full shower bath, small and large outdoor patios, and two bedrooms one with a full size bed and the other with a queen.
A walkway connects the studio unit which has a full kitchen, living and dining area, and shower bath. This unit also provides a queen bed and full size futon sofa sleeper..
There are cable TV's through out the living and bedrooms with large screen TV's in the living areas.

Our vacation rental is located in the heart of Hilo and along the ocean drive to all the beaches. It is ideal for visitors looking to visit all the popular sites on the east side of the island. The home is 5 minutes from the airport, shopping, restaurants, gardens, fish markets, and Hilo’s popular Downtown Farmer's Market. The Hawaii Volcano National Park, Waterfalls along the Hamakua coast, and Rainforest ziplines are about a 20-30 minute drive away. The world famous Arnotts’ Tours that include, Volcano, Mauna Kea Star Gazing, and other famous tours is less than a five minute walk from our home.

The area's natural beauty can be seen at Wailuku River State Park and Kaumana Springs Wilderness, while Hilo Art Museum and Wailoa Center are cultural highlights. Panaewa Rainforest Zoo and Pacific Tsunami Museum are also worth visiting. Discover the area's water adventures with kayaking, snorkeling, and surfing/body boarding nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with hiking.
