As you enter the port of Gialos by ferry or cruise ship, the imposing homes of this colorful traditional settlement create a breathtaking scene. On the other side of the island, youll find Taxiarchis Michael of Panormitis, the monastery that houses the icon of the famous miracle worker saint. Indeed many people travel to Symi to light a candle and say a prayer in hope that the saint will grant them their wishes.
