Groovy Granny's is full of Texas hospitality & 1970s funky fun. Fall is her FAVORITE time of year & she can't wait for you to come stay! Granbury has endless events, activities, and shopping to keep everyone busy during the day, and Granny has her fire pit ready for relaxing evenings spent together around the fire. Inside, the game room provides hours of fun, or lounge on the comfy couches for family game night - Granny has made sure that plenty of board games are provided.

THE HOUSE /// Groovy Granny has made sure to create a comfy and relaxing atmosphere for the families & friends that come visit - she wants everyone to feel at home! The well equipped kitchen has everything needed to make your morning coffee & delicious meals - even vintage 1970s dinnerware to keep things funky. The living room and game room give everyone a chance to hang out together as you play games, listen to records, or watch TV, and also has a queen size sleeper sofa, if needed. Bathrooms are stocked with all the amenities and towels you'll need - we even supply laundry detergent if you'd like to pack light and wash clothes while here! The Primary Bedroom has its own entrance out to the back deck and features a comfy king bed and an ensuite bathroom that's been updated with the most fabulous 1970s mushroom ballerina wallpaper. The 2nd bedroom features another king sized bed, the 3rd bedroom has a queen bed, and the 4th bedroom holds 2 full size beds. All bedrooms are equipped with closet space, dresser drawers, USB ports for your charging cords, sound machines, and room darkening curtains.

THE YARD /// The fully fenced yard has something for everyone: Lots of chairs and hammock to lounge and relax on, and there's yard games to keep the kids entertained. Our covered patio provides plenty of comfy lounging furniture. Head down the private pathway to canal level and fish right from the yard, or hop in a kayak to paddle out to the main lake (depending on drought conditions). There's turtles & ducks who love to visit our end of the canal, and plenty of other birds can be spotted hanging around the water.

THE AREA /// Groovy Granny's is walking distance to Granbury's newest hangout, Warren's Backyard - they offer great food, a pet-friendly and laid back patio atmosphere, and live music. Be sure to check their website for what events they have going on during your stay. Sometimes, when the wind blows the right way, they'll provide free background music as you lounge by the fire pit and pool - no need to even walk over! (Their music is over by 11 & we rarely can hear it from inside the house, so no worry about late nights.)

If you'd like to do a little exploring - Granbury has A TON to do and see. The historic square is about 5 minutes away & has fun festivals almost every weekend, amazing restaurants, shops, an Opera House, live theater, ghost tours (did you know Granbury is haunted?!), and even a little history to be learned. If you'd like to sink your feet in the sand, the Granbury City Beach is only about 5 minutes away - the kids love playing in the sand. Nearby Glen Rose is home to Dinosaur Valley State Park where you can see real fossilized dino footprints in the river, Fossil Rim Nature Center to feed the giraffes & zebras as they stick their heads in the car windows, and Big Rock Park to climb and play.

If you aren't from DFW then Granny's is a great bouncing off point for day trips all around the metroplex. We're about 40 miles from downtown Fort Worth, 70 miles from Dallas, 100 miles from Waco, 60 miles from AT&T Stadium & Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, and 70 miles to DFW Airport.

Located in Granbury, this vacation home is on the waterfront. D'Vine Wine and Barking Rocks Vineyard and Winery are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Granbury's Railroad Depot Museum and FCS Paintball. Kayaking and motor boating offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking/biking trails and horse riding nearby.
