New River Cottage
Come experience relaxing in this completely restored 1902 mill house. This vacation home is located in the charming historic town of Fries, VA. The large front porch overlooks the New River and the New River Trail State Park which is the perfect setting for your morning coffee or evening wine.
Inside you will find the large comfortable living room with numerous seating options and a 55” Smart TV.
The well-stocked kitchen includes a gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator, countertop icemaker, drip coffee maker, and Keurig. The dining area located in the kitchen has sitting at the dining table or counter top bar.
Primary bedroom with King size bed includes a seating area with an attached full bathroom. Second bedroom has two twin beds and is adjacent to the second full bathroom. The second full bathroom has an additional private dressing area and washer and dryer.
Sunroom includes a daybed, 34” Smart TV, and a dedicated desk with a gorgeous river view. It’s a great room to snuggle up with a good book, play a board game, or assemble a puzzle.
Looking to stay active?
The New River Trail State Park is within easy walking distance to hike, run, or ride bikes while following the New River for miles. Also, within walking distance is a river access for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and river tubing. Bring your own or rent from New River Outdoor Adventures.
There is a secure secure storage area for your bike, canoe or kayak and also an electrical outlet to charge your E-bike.

Every Thursday night - 7-9pm at the Historical Fries Theatre in Fries, VA.
Most Friday nights – 7-9pm at The Rex Theater in Galax, VA
Saturdays - Blue Ridge Music Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway
(Ring camera on front porch and backyard so owners can see the River and check the weather in Fries. Cameras are not monitored. No cameras inside.)
Located in Fries, this cottage is in a rural area and on a river. Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and Crooked Creek Fish Management Area reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Wayne Henderson's Workshop and Fort Chiswell Animal Park. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
