Tikehau is a paradise atoll in the Tuamotu archipelago, a 55-minute flight from Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia. An atoll is a type of coral island low in the tropical oceans. The atolls consist of a coral reef or barrier and several islets called motu.

Tikehau offers its visitors a real natural swimming pool, superb white and pink sandy beaches as far as the eye can see, a crystal lagoon with a multitude of tropical fish species. Marine life is very rich and promises nature lovers beautiful shows.

The island is populated by around 500 people, the locals call it "the house of a peaceful world". The population lives mainly on fishing and copra.
