This modern geodesic dome is 22’ diameter with a huge window to the woods, a queen bed, a loft with another queen bed underneath a window to the stars, a small kitchenette (sink, granite countertop, electric hot top, mini refrigerator, dishes, silverware, basics for cooking, kettle, etc.), a stunning full bathroom, a small dining table and stools, and a queen bed. This dome comes supplied with linens for both beds (sheets, down comforter / quilt and pillows), and towels for four. The dome also has an outdoor seating area with four Adirondack chairs, a fire ring (w/ integrated grill), a small picnic table, and bistro lights that make for a magical outdoor experience.
The dome is located in the recently renovated campground next to the Desert of Maine, an iconic tourist attraction established in 1926. The campground is small, quiet, and serene, surrounded by tall northern pines at the edge of the Desert’s rolling sand dunes which were deposited there at the end of the last ice age. The tourist attraction (open May - Oct) includes fascinating exhibits about the history, ecology, geology of the Desert, activities for kids, a train ride, mini golf, and much more. Campground guests enjoy free access to the dunes after hours, and discounted tickets for mini golf and general admission for daytime visits.
The entire experience is designed around helping you unwind from your busy life, slip in to a sense of stillness and wonder, and wake up (again) to the magic of being a human. Come to the place Where Wanderers Unwind.
Guest Access:

You will have the entire dome on a dedicated campsite, all to yourself.

Located in Freeport, this cabin is in a rural area and by the sea. Harrington House and Freeport Historical Society are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Wilbur's of Maine Chocolate Confections and Wolfe's Neck Farm. Greely Center for the Arts and Orion Performing Arts Center are also worth visiting.
