The house is central to a number of state parks, crystal clear springs, and public access to the Santa Fe and Suwannee rivers. Bring your kayak or paddle board to launch from the private dock on the property, or launch your small boat from the quiet boat ramp less than a mile from the house! There are also plenty of local options to rent a kayak or canoe.

Scuba divers, cave divers and free divers have plenty of exciting options nearby, including Ginnie Springs, Ichetucknee, Troy, Blue Grotto, Devil's Den, etc. See the guest book for a list of some of the best local dive spots and shops.

A short drive will take you to High Springs (11 miles) for popular antiquing shops and restaurants; to Lake City (24 miles) to golf, watch a race at the raceway, or grab a beer at the local brewery; or to Gainesville (30 miles) where there are museums, shopping, restaurants and the University of Florida.
