As a northern New Jersey native, Dan is excited to be practicing surgery back on the east coast. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, followed by a one-year small animal rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. He spent the next several years obtaining specialized training in all aspects of surgery through the completion of a general surgical internship (soft tissue and orthopedics), a sports medicine and rehabilitation internship, and ultimately a 3-year residency in small animal surgery at the University of Minnesota. He is a board certified specialist in small animal veterinary surgery.
During his extensive training, Dr. Balogh has authored several scientific publications on various topics including a novel intra-articular treatment for canine acl injuries using decellularized flexor tendons. His clinical areas of interest include surgical oncology, urogenital disease, and challenging orthopedic cases.
While Dan grew fond of the Midwest, he is happy to be close to friends, family, and his 14 year old Labrador Maggie. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time as much time as possible outdoors.
