Our home away from home is situated on a 15 foot bank overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Ocean (house is set back 50 feet from edge it does not overhang!). The house is an 1800 sq ft modern open plan concept with a NY loft feel, ceilings are a soaring 18 feet high. There are wonderful stylish details throughout the house that will make you feel like you are staying at the most exclusive boutique resort but with the comforts of home. The views are spectacular and with less than a 5 min walk you will be at a lovely little cove beach great for snorkeling or just laying on a floaty all day long.

There are 3 bedrooms 2 of which have beautiful 8 foot french doors leading out to the deck with views to the ocean. Each bedroom has its own air conditioning unit as well as the main great room. The 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds that can be pushed together.

The great room embodies the open plan concept. It consists of the kitchen with a huge island with concrete counter tops, Smeg cook top, built in Bosch Convection Oven, stainless fridge and also a stainless steel dishwasher as well as a cappuccino maker/French press or regular coffee maker. In this space you will also find the living room with 2 of the most comfortable shabby chic white linen couches as well as the dining room with a beautiful wooden dining table with matching wooden bench on one side and clear Ghost chairs on the other side. This will easily accommodate 8 people. There is plenty of room for everyone to stretch out. The living area is surrounded by 8 foot French doors all leading out to the deck with the most gorgeous views and even better sunsets.

There is Free Wifi throughout the house so you can stay in touch. There is no TV but the last thing you will want to do on the island is watch TV.

The layout of the house is great for big families or 2 couples as the main room area separates a Master bedroom with 8 foot French doors leading out to the deck, a ensuite bath with double sinks, glass tile detail and a fabulous rain shower. To wake up to this view everyday is pure heaven!!!

On the other side of the main great room there are 2 bedrooms one has a Queen bed also with French doors leading out to the deck and has the gorgeous views to wake up to as well. The 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds with lovely views to the garden. All bedrooms have plenty of closet space for all your clothes and belongings. Separating the 2 bedrooms is a wonderfully designed bathroom with glass tile detail and a great rain shower.

The house was designed to take advantage of the ocean views from almost every room. Both the Master Bedroom and the Queen room have fabulous views of the ocean and French doors leading out to the 1000 sq foot deck.

There is a propane bbq for you to grill up your fresh catch of the day that you caught right off the cliff as well as 2 loungers for you to sit out in the sun. On the deck there is a built in bench system with great stylish cushions perfect for lounging the day away. Sitting on the deck looking out into the ocean is one of my favourite things to do. If you look hard enough you might even see some dolphins swim by.

Having these two houses side by side is extremely rare and is perfect for large families, wedding parties, reunions any occasion where you have a lot of people and don't want to be separated and have to stay in different parts of the island.

Snorkel sets as well as beach towels and beach mats are provided. Of course all linens are provided as well. Please note there is no TV (intentionally) who wants to watch TV when you have a beautiful island to discover. We do however have wifi which is great for staying in touch.

Eleuthera is one of those places that you dream of but don't actually think it exists. It is truly one of our favorite places on earth. Eleuthera is a quiet, rural island and the nearby settlement Gregory Town is a sleepy harbour town full of friendly Bahamian natives. The house is situated in Oleander Gardens in a lovely district right next to the Cove Eleuthera Resort.

We definitely recommend renting a car which on the island is done by locals, there is no Budget or Hertz here, this is one of the many charms of the island. With a car you can explore a different beach every day. Let us know if you would like this arranged in advance. Please note that peak seasons get very busy for car rentals so it is always a good idea to arrange this in advance so you are not disappointed.

On the island you won't find big tourist signs if you see a trail through the bush most likely it leads you to the beach. There is a wonderful book called 'The Elusive Beaches of Eleuthera' which you are welcome to use while at the house so you can find all the wonderful beaches on the island (who knows you may just discover your own).

With both the Caribbean and Atlantic Oceans you will find a different beach every day. The lovely pink sand beaches are a definite must see. The house is a 10 minute drive from the world famous Surfers Beach, if you have ever wanted to learn to surf this is the place to do it. Surfing lessons can be arranged on the island, if you are a surfer already you will love this beach. We don't surf but still love going here as it is a great beach to play in the waves. Also a great beach for finding the tiniest little sea shells as well as great sea glass.

For a lovely day trip or a lovely night out you must go to the very chic Harbour Island which is a 15 minute drive to the dock where you will take a 5 minute water taxi the cost for the water taxi is $5.00/person. You will find great restaurants here and depending on the time of year you will find some of the most fantastic yachts moored at the marina.

You won't find any shopping malls or big touristy places on Eleuthera but with all the beaches to explore who needs that. There are quite a few great restaurants on the island, right next door is the wonderful Cove Eleuthera Resort which is very convenient when you don't feel like cooking lunch or dinner at home. Also a few minutes drive south you will find 'The Laughing Lizard' a great lunchtime spot for the best Jerk Chicken wraps or my favourite the Italian Panini and the addictive Banana Smoothie. Fridays is 'Fish Fry' night in Governors Harbour, another must do. Also at Governors Harbour is Tippy's and the Beach House a couple more great restaurants.

Located in Gregory Town, this vacation home is by the ocean. Dr. Albert Johnson Memorial and Glen Stewart Mansion are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at James Cistern Dock and Government Dock. Looking to get your feet wet? Scuba diving, snorkeling and surfing/body boarding adventures can be found near the property.
