The space
Welcome to Lakeside Escape! If you are looking for romance, relaxation, quality time with family, or a peaceful fishing location, Lakeside Escape is the perfect place! Lakeside Escape is located by the Wheeler Lake reservoir also known as Elk River. The lovely drive to the property is a dead end so no unnecessary traffic, except for the deer sightings!!

Lakeside Escape is a 2,700 sq ft. three (3) story lakeside home where you can escape from the city. Located less than an hour's drive from Madison/Huntsville and surrounding areas you will feel as if you are far, far away. Get ready to enjoy the fresh country air!

Fully stocked with all the amenities you need. Lakeside Escape has plenty of space featuring a total of four (4) bedrooms. Two (2) bedrooms in the private access apartment on the bottom level feature queen beds with each room having an in-room ¼ bath and a shared full bath. The main floor features a spacious primary bedroom with (1) king bed and private bath as well as access to the wrap-around deck with lake views and a (1) bedroom with a queen bed with access to a full bath. The third floor loft features two (2) additional queen beds and a quaint sitting area. The home comfortably sleeps 12 adults.

During your stay you can cook a meal in the fully-equipped kitchen, bring out a number of board games, giant Jenga, or corn hole we provide for day or night family fun. Lakeside Escape features a large wrap-around deck providing plenty of room to enjoy picturesque lake views.

Just steps from the front door walk to the community boat launch and picnic area. Bring your toys and enjoy water access for kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, and fishing. Bring your boat as Lakeside Escape comes complete with covered boat parking. A yoga mat, bicycle or a favorite book come in handy as well as binoculars for some amazing bird watching along the waterfront. Don’t forget the barbecue on the patio!

There is plenty of space for parking. We offer additional boat parking with a separate driveway specifically for parking your boats. There is one covered boat parking area at the top of the property. If more than one boat, we allow you to use the boat driveway to park on the grass near the existing covered boat area at top of property. Please do not block the boat driveway.

For those with physical disabilities, we have a side entrance you can drive your can to on the side of the property to access the house. That entry has just a few steps and you enter the main portion of the house.

Lakeside Escape has a special book that contains information about the surrounding area. Details include where to shop for gas, additional boat launch, supplies, even a cafe perfect for those picnic and boat outings.

Located in Athens, this vacation home is in a rural area and on a river. Crutcher Shopping Center and Athens Shopping Center are worth checking out if shopping is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Elk River Lodge State Park and Joe Wheeler State Park. Looking to get your feet wet? Motor boating and swimming adventures can be found near the property.
