Christian Mercill, a native of Northern California, was raised in the small town of Hayfork, California, where for many years his grandfather was the town's only physician. He still credits his grandfather as a main influence in his own medical career, having watched him practice medicine until the age of 79.

Christian attended high school locally at the Redding Adventist Academy, where he first gained an interest in sports medicine through his own active involvement in sports. He completed his undergraduate education at Pacific Union College in the Napa Valley, where his interest and passion for the physical therapy profession grew, and moved on to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Loma Linda University's School of Physical Therapy. More recently, Christian became certified in orthotic insert casting in the summer of 2011.

While Christian's clinical interests include general orthopedics, vestibular rehabilitation, sports physical therapy, and geriatric rehabilitation, he continues to expand his professional horizons and is motivated by a strong drive to help people by applying his knowledge of the human body to improving functional ability. When he is not busy helping others in the physical therapy clinic, he is putting his knowledge of sports into practice as wells as enjoying spending time with his family.
