The Home of the Stars is a privately owned luxury residence. However, between the years 1965 and 1983, the Sahara Tahoe Hotel & Casino used this residence to accommodate its guest performers. Although Elvis Presley had a private suite at the Sahara, other stars preferred the quiet seclusion of the Home of the Stars. Enjoy outdoor living that includes panoramic views from the 1,700 square foot deck and the end of a 220 foot jointly owned pier. Breath in the fresh Sierra Mountain air under towering trees that create natural shade and privacy. Whether you prefer the clear blue waters of Lake Tahoe, hiking the quiet mountain trails of the Zephyr Cove federal forest land, grilling on the gas BBQ, soaking in the private hot tub, or relaxing with a delightful book, the Home of the Stars has something for everyone.

Be our guest and enjoy 5,500 square feet of living space on 3 levels. The lower level (at lakeside) has an expansive entertainment area for the young-at-heart, a foosball table, a kitchenette, a small dining area, a media center with a flatscreen TV, a plush sofa, a day bed, and access to the deck through a 12-foot-wide window wall (sliding glass doors that disappear into the wall). The mid-level provides a wonderful living space, a gas fireplace, and an abundance of natural light flooding through the wall of glass facing the Lake. The culinary-inclined guests will feel right at home in the gourmet kitchen complete with a professional Viking gas range, separate all-refrigerator, and all-freezer, 2 Viking dishwashers, a 45 square foot island with seating for 8, and a coffee/wine bar with ice maker and beverage refrigerator. The dining table seats 14 persons and there is overflow seating at the “kid’s counter”. The mid-level also contains a billiard room and game closet filled with board games, cards, puzzles, and toys. The third level consists of 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and offers a quiet place for an afternoon nap. The primary bedroom has a balcony outside another 12-foot sliding window wall and access to an exterior staircase. Make some memories that will last a lifetime.

Things to Know
Quiet hours are designated from 9 p.m. - 8 a.m. and will be strictly enforced. Exterior and interior noise aware monitoring equipment in use
Garbage: Guests must use the bear can to store garbage (code 2007).
The pier is shared with the family to the south. No tie-off to the pier. No use of boat lifts
Permit required at the private community beach
The hot tub must be covered when not in use
Guests may be personally liable for any violation in property restrictions or the Douglas County Vacation Home Rental ordinance including the value of conditional use permits
This is a family home. It is not available for group functions, weddings or parties.
*Two front (east) exterior cameras are located at each side of the garage; one rear (west) panoramic exterior camera is located on the northwest corner of the house. Noise Aware sound monitoring equipment is present but the cameras do not have noise capability. There is also an active Ring doorbell.

This property is managed by Vacasa Nevada LLC.

Parking notes: Permitted for four (4) parking spaces on the driveway. A parking permit must be displayed on the driver's side dashboard of the vehicle. Failure to park in the designated parking spaces and/or display the parking permit may result in a citation and fine of $500 to the owner of the vehicle' per Douglas County Code (“DCC”) 20.622.040(D)(3). No parking on the streets. No garage parking.

Dock details: ***This is a lakefront property with a pier and 2 buoys located 50 feet from the Zephyr Cove forest land in Skyland. *Guests may not use the boat lift or tie off to the pier.
**** Your lease states the pier is jointly owned with our neighbors to the south. this means they and their guests can use the pier at the same time as you. So please be respectful and share the use of this wonderful resource, and let's all enjoy the beauty of Lake Tahoe.
***Private Beach Permit Access & Beach Parking Permit. Permit must be displayed in vehicles and displayed at beach.


Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.)
The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Located in Zephyr Cove, this vacation home is in a rural area and on the beach. Lake Tahoe Historical Society Museum and Genoa Courthouse Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Thunderbird Lodge and Tallac Historic Site. Consider Boulder Lodge for a night out or Lake Tahoe Balloons if you're traveling with kids. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
