Bethan Smith, DVM - YUCCA VALLEY, CA

Veterinary School: University of Wisconsin-Madison

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Bethan Smith grew up spending time with dogs, cats and various small fuzzy animals.

Dr. Smith obtained her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Microbiology and earned her DVM in 2005 from the University of Wisconsin. During her tenure in veterinary school, she completed various externships in the US and Canary Islands.

Dr. Smith has a special interest in working with exotics (reptiles, birds and small mammals). Following her graduation, Dr. Smith worked for a year in Chicago for an exotic/emergency practice. Prior to joining High Desert Animal Hospital in 2007, Dr. Smith was associated with a small animal general practice in Palm Springs, CA. She is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

On a more personal level, Dr. Smith shares her home with three dogs, Lenny, Tina and Ozzy. She and her fianc?, Eric, enjoy spending time outdoors and their future plans include a fall wedding.
