Restaurant Description
The town of Wixon has its first upscale resaurant,and it is notable in many ways,from its handsome decor and correct service to its creative Italian menu. The grocci family seems to have done everything right in taking over an anonymous new building and lavishing it with wood work,parquet floors,venetian plastered walls in a coopery shade,plush upholstery and a big kitchen where Dine Grocci,a graduate of the culinary program at Schoolcraft College who also studied in Italy,turns out made-from-scratch fare. The menu is just the right length,with several pasta dishes,typified by Penne with Prosciutto,peas truffle butter and Parmegiano Reggiano cheese and veals stuffed ravioli in butter sage and shaved porcini mushrooms, as well as three seafoodand just eight mmeal selections. Since opening in Novemberof 2004 it has been drawing enthusiastic crowds that appreciate quality. It is ambitious,but not pretentious.
