The property is located 0.75 miles off the Parks Highway (mile post 64.5). This cozy 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 1200 square foot log home sits on 9.5 acres and is a perfect respite from busy life. Beautifully furnished with all the amenities of home. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has a full size bed and there his a full size futon bed in the living room. The house is equipped with a back up wood stove, washer - dryer, and a full kitchen. There is a private, spacious deck with full southern exposure to enjoy Alaska's rays, lots of deck furniture and a gas grill to cook up your salmon!
The property was once an active sled dog kennel and still has a few old dogs enjoying the retired life. Renters should be comfortable around dogs!!! The retired sled dogs are very friendly and curious, and their large, fully enclosed yard is adjacent to the house. They have the run of their enclosed yard and may peak at you though the house window sometimes. As you drive up to the house you will likely be greeted by Jack. Jack is a rescue dog that has made his home here. He runs free but doesn't leave the property. He is curious, so will come close enough to watch you, but is shy and will not let you pet him. In the winter time when its cold he may ask to come into the house. If you let him in the house and he lays down, he is comfortable enough to be pet.
There is a Care Taker on the property who can answer any questions you may have and there are commercial sled dog tours available at the neighbors if you are interested. Farm fresh eggs are available from another neighbor if you ask.
Willow townsite is located 5 miles to the north and the town of Houston is 6 miles south. Both have restaurants, gas stations, a post office, gift shops and other amenities. The town of Talkeetna is a 45 minutes drive to the north.

From the Parks Highway Turn at Mile Post 64.5 on to Allen Drive, follow Allen Drive for 0.5 miles, Allen drive will turn to the left and become Rappin Rappe Drive, (Go past Dream A Dream Dog Farm) go to the top of the hill, make a right turn, when you see a single story log home with a detached garage you have arrived.
