Restaurant Description
Chef Emilio Gervilla newest restaurant, La Rioja, is located in historic downtown Wheaton. Named after the famed Spanish wine making province in northern Spain, La Rioja delivers not only a fine wine selection, but also an extensive menu featuring specialties from the entire Iberian Peninsula. All the familiar Emilio trademarks are evident here, from Spanish mosaics to the walls, to imported ceramics and artwork. The colorful and lively atmosphere instantly zooms you off to sunny Spain. Sit back, relax, and browse, the extensive mouthwatering menu that includes seafood, shellfish, meat and vegetarian choices. The famous Spanish rice dish "Paella" is available in two styles, the "Valenciana," which includes pork, chicken and seafood, and also the "mariscos," which contains only seafood. The Platos del Dia, or daily specials, focuses on seasonal delicacies and Spanish classics. Variety is the key at an Emilio's Tapas restaurant and the Wheaton location is no exception.
