DESCRIPTION:
This is a charming, renovated studio, central to all that Washington DC's Palisades Village has to offer. It features a private entrance, kitchenette with granite counters, new bath with shower, and its own laundry room. The bed is queen-sized and the seating area accommodates 2 to 4 people. (There are 4 apartments in this renovated townhouse that can be interconnected for parties of 8 to 14.)

**NOTE: This is a mixed-use building. The owner's music studio is in front half, so you might hear their piano students practicing from 3 to 9pm Monday thru Friday and on Saturday 10am to 5pm. There are no classes during summer months.
LOCATION:
You'll be able to do so much on foot! There are appealing restaurants to try; Starbucks; a mini-market; a pharmacy; several banks; post office; cleaners; and other useful businesses.
* Just 5 blocks from the apartment, in the heart of Palisades Village, you’ll find a marvelous fish market, upscale wine store, Safeway, CVS, community library, even more restaurants to sample, and gourmet take-out. On Sundays, you can stroll over to the Farmer’s Market.
* Would you like to enjoy the great outdoors? You're 3 blocks from Battery-Kemble National Park's hiking trails; the trail to the Potomac River; the Capital Crescent Bike Trail, the C&O Canal tow path; and Fletcher's Boathouse, where you can rent canoes, kayaks, row boats, and bicycles.
* Limitless free cultural options abound in Washington, DC. You are a mere 20 minute drive by car to The National Mall with its memorials, monuments, gardens, open spaces and 21 Smithsonian museums. It’s also just a 15 minute drive to the Kennedy Center (free performance every night at 6pm!).
* The apartment is close to several other distinguished institutions: approximately 2 miles away you'll find American University, and closer in you'll be near Georgetown University, George Washington University's Mount Vernon Campus, and the French and German Embassies.
TRANSPORTATION:
The Palisades Sanctuary apartment is located on the D5/D6 bus lines (MacArthur Blvd NW & Dana Pl. NW, 1/2 block away). The route takes you on a beautiful ride through historic Georgetown, DuPont Circle, Foggy Bottom, The World Bank, The White House, Downtown, The National Mall, Penn Quarter, Metro Center, Union Station and The Capital Building, i.e. everything that you would want to see! Fetch a Starbucks first, then sit back and relax while you enjoy your $1.70 bus ride through some of the most interesting and beautiful neighborhoods in the city! If you have a car, unrestricted street parking is a block away, and we may have an off-street space available - $10 per night - subject to availability. If you don't have a car and need one, try Zipcar or Car2Go car shares; Uber taxi; or regular taxis.
