"Goose" High Roof Short-Wheelbase 2006 Sprinter
I built this van to live comfortably in while skiing a bunch of the resorts on the Ikon Pass so it has as many comforts of home as I could pack into it. Hot water, efficient kitchen, soft-close drawers to hold two people's stuff, ample solar and battery power, and internal cargo space for a bike and boards. It's an efficient road tripper getting ~22-26mpg.
Note that insurance is included in the price. Not sure if this shows up on checkout or what, but after the booking it's waived since I have the goose already insured for rental use.

- rear-view camera since there are no rear windows. Take it slow and use the camera & giant side mirrors, it's actually not hard, just slow.
- Powerful engine. You'll keep up with traffic no problem. This is not an old VW bus.
- Short wheelbase - it still drives like a tall truck but it's only about a foot longer than a sedan so not so hard to maneuver.
- fridge and freezer, enough to hold essentials.

- Big full sized sink.
- All the basic Kitchen stuff you'll probably need: 6-quart pressure cooker/pot, little skillet, coffee maker, cooking knives, flatware, colander, enameled camping plates, some spices, food containers, random other stuff
- Wood finishes are bamboo and cedar
- 14-gallon fresh-water tank, two 6 gallon portable jugs. This will typically last you between 5 - 11 days+.
- electric mattress pad, dual-zone controls for two sleepers. This comes in handy with nights in the 40s and below. You won't be cold.
- Alpcour Portable Toilet if desired (we've never used it, but it's there in case. Or leave it behind for more storage space)
- Dimming LED recessed and overhead lighting.
- Hot water shower/hose. Surprisingly comfortable and efficient. Rear doors provide "boondocking level" privacy. Curtains available too.
- Electronically secured main drawers so your stuff is locked up safe while you're away. There's no visible lock or latch to force, you just use the secret button to lock/unlock them
- Ample solar electrical system provides power almost like you're at home, no generator needed. 1000W max
- Three fast-charge USB ports, seven 120V plugs
- Pure sine wave inverter supplies up to 10amps, 350watt solar panel on the roof, ~2kWh of usable battery power from LiFePo4 batteries. It'll go 2-4 days parked in a dark garage, depending on usage. Bottom line: it's unlikely you'll have to worry about it.
To switch to "bed mode" for one you just fold down the mattress. To sleep two in optimal comfort you slide in a countertop extension to support the 2nd person's feet, this takes about one minute to set up or break down.
You can leave your car on our private property here semi-rural Walnut Creek. Sometimes I'm in SF too but that's harder because you can't leave a car there.
