Richard Walters, DO, received his medical degree from NOVA Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Temple University Hospital School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, and his fellowship in Gastroenterology at UMDNJ-SOM in South Jersey. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Walters’ past research experience includes dysmotility and functional disease of the stomach, as well as obesity and complications of bariatric surgery. He also has special interest in colorectal cancer screening and prevention, inflammatory diseases of the GI tract, celiac disease and other malabsorptive syndromes, reflux and other associated problems of the esophagus. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to caring for the needs of patients in the South Jersey community.
