Villa Sol y Sombra, also known as MAV SOL, is a 5-bedroom villa located in Beachside the Baths within steps of the beach and minutes from restaurants and shopping.
Carved Indonesian gates lead through lush landscaping to 4 pavilions that border a central coral stone terrace and large infinity-edge pool. An expanse of green lawn beyond leads to the beach. Thai teak furnishings adorned with rich fabrics, handcrafted mahogany windows and doors, handsome native stonework, cool gold-hued coralstone flooring, and a charming collection of exotic artifacts grace the interior.
The spacious main pavilion offers a large great room with a state-of-the-art entertainment system, shaded terrace with wet bar, formal dining room with seating for 12 guests (with additional seating for 8 guests outside on the covered terrace), and a gourmet kitchen. Adjoining is an office and powder room. An air-conditioned gym with exercise equipment and satellite TV completes this pavilion.
At one end of the pool is the master suite pavilion, which has a king-size bed, covered veranda, walk-in closet, and outdoor shower looking out to a burst of tropical flowers. At the other end is the third pavilion built around huge boulders. This pavilion offers 2 bedrooms, one of which is a pool-level bedroom with twin beds and a veranda. A staircase curving around a large boulder ascends to the second master suite with a queen-size bed and a private pergola terrace with hammocks facing the view.
A self-contained guesthouse is located behind the great room pavilion, adjacent to the private lighted tennis court. This pavilion features a bedroom with a king-size bed bordered by a veranda, from which a circular staircase climbs to a rooftop aerie. An adjacent sitting room has twin daybeds and a kitchenette.
The house also has WiFi, a fax machine, gas grill, satellite Dish network, a home theater projector with pull-down screen, snorkeling gear, a basketball hoop, beach accessories, and 2 ocean kayaks. A complimentary dinner is served on the second evening of stay. A security deposit of $1,000 (refundable 45 days after departure) and a 7-night minimum stay during Thanksgiving (10 nights during the Christmas and New Year holidays) is required.
