APC training is the process to achieve the MRICS qualification from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors RICS APC, the final assessment to qualify as a professional, is a challenging route for many candidates aspiring to become a Chartered Surveyor in the construction and civil engineering sector. 1.Registering to the RICS APC
The first step a candidate must do is to register for the MRICS qualification through RICS. Candidates can register to the chartered membership qualification through three ways:

The college provides the Quantity Surveying and Construction sector pathway course through live online lectures.
Once, the candidate registers for the APC; they will receive a timeline to fulfil the requirements necessary to qualify as a chartered member of RICS. Usually, the structured training route takes 400 days of training to become an MRICS.
2.Choosing the route to MRICS
The second step for the candidate is to select the sector pathway to proceed in the qualification. There are 22 sector pathways in management, development and valuation qualification. Each sector pathway will lead the candidate to a specialised profession.
3.Finding a counsellor
Every candidate should have a professional supervisor or counsellor to assist them throughout the APC process. Finding a counsellor is important to pass the assessment. The professional assigned to you will guide you to understand the APC training process and what you must do to obtain the MRICS qualification.

There are three levels of competencies the RICS requires from every candidate applying for the APC. The mandatory, core and optional competencies, which are further split into 3 levels. Each competency is recorded during the process of working in the industry, learning skills and proving professional ethics and standards while on site.
5.Maintaining the records
Candidates are required to maintain a diary or logbook to record the experience, activities, and the projects they complete during the process of APC. By doing so, the candidates will have samples to provide for the submission reports and case study presentation.
6.Structured Training
If you are progressing on the APC path, then you should complete the 12-24 months structured training route to gain the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to become a Chartered Member of the RICS.
7.Continuous Professional Development
The route to membership does not end with obtaining the MRICS status. The Professional Body requires all members to keep developing the skills in the profession to maintain quality and standards. Recording CPD hours is part of the APC process. However, the process keeps continuing even after the candidate has obtained the MRICS qualification.
