What was Frank’s career in the later half? Well, he maintained the same aura. Audiences loved him, though his voice was losing the magic. He made tours in different nations.

In the early 1980s, it was found that Frank was loosing his charm in respect to his voice. The flexibility and the power in his voice started showing a decline, but his fans and the audience didn’t seem much affected and his popularity continued.

He continued with his magic among the audience

In the year 1982, he signed a three year contract of $16 million with the Golden Nugget of Las Vegas. It was noticed that Sinatra’s voice seemed to have gone tougher and darker, but he continues to entice the audience with his magic. His voice started to crack sometimes, but overall his voice still had the magic to captivate the audiences like the early days.

Millions of worth contracts were signed by Frank in the 1980s

In 1982, Frank earned a $1.3 million via a showtime TV rights to his Concert of the Americans in the Dominican Republic. For  concert series at Carnegie Hall he made $1.6 million, and for just one evening at the Chicago Fest he made a whopping amount of $250,000. He made a performance at the White House as well for the Italian Prime Minister.

President Reagan honored him for his talent

In 1983 Kenedy Center Honors, Frank was one of the five recipients. President Reagan honored him by commenting that Frank Sinatra has spent his entire life dedicated to the art of music and he is indeed an influential and a magnificent shadow, in respect to President Reagan’s quote, “art is the shadow of humanity”.

Frank collapsed on a stage show and was ill

It was in 1984, when Frank worked for the very first time with Quincy Jones for the album, L.A. Is my Lady. The album was acclaimed critically. There were several Frank Sinatra pictures available depicting his later half of the career. While performing for a stage show in the Atlantic City, he collapsed, and was hospitalized for diverticulitis.

An active schedule

He was awarded with the second Ella Award in 1990, and his performance with Ella Fitzgerald was the final one at an award show. During the 1990s, he maintained a very busy and an active touring routine. He performed 65 concerts in 1990, followed by 73 in 1991 and 84 in 1992 in 17 different nations. Check out more …
