This cabin sits 40 feet from the stunning boulder strewn South Fork American River. This ideal location is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast. Welcome to the hidden street of Strawberry Lane in Twin Bridges, behind the Strawberry Lodge. This cozy neighborhood is quiet and relaxing and close to many mountain activities. This location is ideal off highway 50, before Echo Summit and Tahoe basin, allowing a comfortable, 3 hour drive door to door from San Francisco. It is in walking distance to the historic Pony Express Trail, Lover's Leap and other back road adventures. Enjoy the historic Strawberry Lodge, a walk away, for breakfast, dinner or a drink in the bar or walk to the Strawberry Market for the convenience of a small country market. The home is accessible even in harsh winter road conditions as it is located just west of where 50 closes for chain control.

Our families use the cabin often and we have furnished it with love and attention to detail. We needed to be able to entertain our kids, cook big meals, wash up, sleep comfortably, play games, watch movies and repeat. I don't think you will not find what you need or are looking for. We want you to feel like you're at home and not in a rental. Come check it out! The home is adequately stocked with new linens, kitchen utensils, some basic flour, spices, oil etc. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths plus some fold out futons allow for 8 to sleep comfortably on beds and 2 more on floor futons for a maximum of 10 occupancy. The leather couch in the downstairs living room welcomes many to lounge up and relax to your favorite DVD (no cable tv). The wood burning stove heats the entire home and electric heaters are in bedrooms if needed.

Outside, the deck has patio seating for 8, 2 tables with umbrellas that overlook the river. In the summer the river slows down and a small soaking area is quite inviting to chill off in. From the front door it is possible to go on trail runs/hikes, mountain bike rides, dirt bike rides, walk to lovers leap campground which leads to climbers access to Lovers Leap and cross country ski from the door around on the local roads and forest service tracts.

Hope you can come relax at our mountain retreat as it is a real gem in on of the best locations out of the Tahoe madness. But if you do need to run over the hill it is 25 min to the Y intersection in South Lake Tahoe and 45 min from Placerville.
