Alcandora Lodge sits prominently on Steamboat Boulevard facing east with dramatic views of the glorious spectacle of Steamboat Mountain. Just one block off of Mount Werner Road, the ski hill access road, and steps away from a mountain shuttle stop, Central Park Plaza, and Wildhorse Village; just minutes away from Ski Time Square and the Gondola base.
The Lodge features a warm and sophisticated interior comprised of an eclectic mix of traditional mountain and modern elements and featuring Native American themed artwork. The lodge is 100% equipped with professional-grade furnishings, equipment, and fixtures making your rental a true turn-key modern mountain experience. With the added warmth of a 2-car heated garage, 7-person Hot Tub, and 4 Fireplaces you will not find a cozier Lodge in Steamboat except perhaps one of our other offerings.
There are 2 Master Suites (one on the ground floor level) that include King beds, gas fireplaces, LCD TVs, Blu-Ray DVD players, walk-in closets and private en-suite baths complete with soaking tubs, separate showers, dual vanities, hidden water closets, and radiant heated tile floors. The custom accents include extensive glass and marble tile accents, marble counters, frame-less glass enclosures, European fixtures and custom cabinetry. All bedrooms come complete with designer bedding including 100% Egyptian cotton 450 thread-count sheets and Egyptian Cotton towels. The custom bedding is complemented by designer draperies and window treatments throughout the property. Each Master Suite has walk-out exterior porches with stunning Steamboat Mountain views or just lie in bed and and take in the view surrounded by luxury. The downstairs Master even has an added secret western facing deck accessed through the Master bathroom for added options and privacy.
There is a unique Bunk Room on the upper level. This bedroom is unique in that houses two set of bunk beds in the configuration of one Double over King + one Double over Double = Conceivably sleeping 8 individuals or an entire family. The bed frames were custom made by a local artisan out of native timber. This very bright room has 270 degree views contains a work desk, LCD TV and ceiling fan.
The lower level Bedroom, adjacent to the Recreation Room, Curved Bar, and Shuffleboard comes complete with its own private en-suite bath with custom tile & glass shower, marble counters and walk-in closet. This bedroom is the most convenient to the outdoor patio and hot tub. After hot tubbing you can warm up in front of the rec room fireplace. This room features one King Bed comprised of a custom split headboard which can be configured as two extra-long twins if preferred so just let us know your preference in advance. The room has an added bonus with a reading niche with lamp & club chair, and a dresser.
The are two additional guest bedrooms off of the upper level balcony overlooking the great room. Each of these rooms are also designed to be set us as one King or two XL Twins depending on your parties preference. Please be sure to specify if you require twin beds or the room will come standard in the King layout. These room have an added bonus as they walk out to a Western facing shared porch for those amazing Steamboat sunsets. Each guest room features an en-suite custom bath with shower/tub combination, walk-in closet, dresser, and custom bedding and window treatments.
For that last minute guest, one remaining sleeping option exists as (1) Double mattress in a pull-out sofa in the lower level Family / Recreation room. This is a quality mattress, not the normal back-breaker that you might find in lesser quality ski rental. The sofa is a sectional which is quite a large, funky & comfy in its purple chennile skin. It surrounds a diagonal fireplace flanked by a 60" Sharp Aquos HD LCD TV and Sony PlayStation 3. This Family / Recreation Room is unique with it's curved custom wood bar seating eight for parties and additional dining. The bar features a sink, wine & beverage fridge, dishwasher, high / low counters and contemporary rail accent lighting. To top off you Recreation Room experience there is a 12' Professional Shuffleboard Table to distract you from the Winter Sports on the big screen. Step outside to the professionally landscaped back lawn on jump in the 7-person hot tub complete with waterfall and LED lighting options. There is of course a powder room adjacent to the bar for your convenience as this room gets a lot of use.
As you turn off Mt Werner Road we are just four houses up Steamboat Blvd on the left across from The Porches luxury townhomes. You will enter the driveway on your left marked by the lighted ski podium. A free shuttle bus stop (which provides transportation to the Gondola base & downtown) awaits at the end of the driveway. As you enter the two-car heated Garage there are wall mounted ski racks conveniently in front of you. Enter the house through the combination mud room / laundry and hang your wet ski duds up to dry for tomorrow’s mountain adventure. As you walk into the Great Room you will pass by the Gourmet Kitchen, Wine Pantry and convenient Powder Room which serves the main level and Dining area.
The Gourmet Kitchen is one of the Lodges grander features as no expense was spared to accommodate large parties and that professional chef in the crowd. The eat-in kitchen is complimented with a Viking fridge, massive Viking (6) burner stove with griddle, Viking warming tray, dishwasher, 2 sinks, coffee bar, programmable fridge, and every appliance one could ask for. Great care was taken in supplying all professional-grade appliances, cutlery, glassware and dinnerware. You will find setups and seating enough for 20 formal diners. Split the crowd outdoors on the covered porches for additional seating and dining options. The adjacent rear porches also include modern wicker furniture, western views, and a gourmet gas grill. You will be in awe of the pleasant knotty cherry and beech cabinetry, custom tile accents, marble counters and custom made live edge counter stools made specially for us by a talented artisan from Northern Maine.
Just across the Chef’s Counter you can comfortably seat four at the Bar. Past that is an open dining table with seating for an additional 10. This custom dining table was also made for us by Gary of Native Woods of Maine and is milled out of spotted live edge curly maple and adds an amazing effect.
Past the Dining Area is the Monolithic Fireplace Hearth that serves as a center piece for the Great Room. Sit and stare up at the ominous Steamboat Mountain as it looms over you as a friendly reminder of the activities to come. Warm your backs on the raised hearth of this unique Great Room or seat yourself in one of the oversized sofas for some apre-ski banter and libations. There is a 50" LCD Internet TV. If the weather is fair, migrate outside for an even better view of the ominous wonder. There you will find modern wicker furniture for lounging, (summer) covered porches and one of the best mountain views that Steamboat has to offer. In the summer you can enjoy one of our finely groomed grass sod areas that double as putting greens, croquet and volleyball lawns amongst the Colorado and Blue Spruces, and professional natural landscaping.
