Special Forces History is a virtual museum that was created to
authenticate, document and preserve the history of US Army Special Force sand their artifacts.My name is Jason Hardy, I have been collecting and documenting Special Forces artifacts for over twenty-five years. In that time, I have had the privilege to meet and befriend many Special Forces veterans who generously shared their stories and artifacts with me. The knowledge that I have acquired has inspired this web site and a book series titled: MAC V SOG: Team History of a Clandestine Army with other publications to follow. I have also worked with THE HISTORY CHANNEL in the documentary: THE HISTORY OF THE GREEN BERETS. In full disclosure I also own and operate the website the dog tag.com where I buy, sell and trade military artifacts.The collecting of military artifacts has been going on since organized Armies were first created. I consider myself to be a historian and take an interest in the history or personal story of each artifact. Take a patch, for example, most people would look at it as just that “a patch”. I tend to view that piece of insignia as an artifact that symbolizes a few men, during a specific period of time, that were asked to perform a mission very few people were willing to do. That small piece of cloth bonds those men together forever and that history must be documented before it is forgotten.This website displays artifacts from veterans and fellow collectors / historians as a virtual museum to help document the history of real Special Forces artifacts. This site is not for the purpose of selling relics and do to privacy issues, the ownership of the items will remain anonymous.
BEWARE: just as with any other hobby, when items reach a certain value there will always be low life scum bags that try to take advantage of a situation. We know they will use this site as a source to pattern reproductions to pawn off on the trusting and uninformed. This is the reason the reverse is not shown and the measurements are not stated. Many of the artifacts on this site are very rare and some are one of a kind.
