Homeowner Insurance Alabama
Are there any limitations to your Homeowner Insurance on the Alabama?
Unfortunately, the weather can be unpredictable at the best of times and on the Gulf the time between June and November is known as hurricane season. Damage can be severe and so premiums are loaded to cover the higher risk and the huge damage that a hurricane can cause.
There are ways that you can reduce your premium.
Installing shutters and wind resistant glass, and reinforcing doors may entitle you to a discount. However, there has been a recent application to the state by some insurers to remove the discount offered for these preventive measures - so before you go to that expense check with Alabama Insurance to see how that case is going.
You can always make adjustments to your deductible – insurers in the Gulf will offer you an option of a flat $500 deductible or a percentage value of your property. The percentage offered is usually in the area of 1% and up to 10% with the dollar amount being agreed at the time of taking out the policy. That dollar amount is written into the policy so there is no dispute should a claim arise.
HRT Insurance has been looking after the insurance needs of the people Alabama since 2000 and we look forward to discussing your homeowner insurance needs.
