Ed Gilberti, Athletic Trainer, is in his first year with Select Physical Therapy and Southington High School. Ed was previously at Post University as the head athletic trainer. He was the Head Athletic Trainer for seven years. In addition, Gilberti has served as the President of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference committee of athletic trainers since the 2012-13 academic year. While at Post University Gilberti is responsible for the prevention, recognition, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for the student-athletes participating in the 19 intercollegiate and two sub-varsity athletic programs. In addition, he served as a strength and conditioning coach for the Post University athletic department. Additionally, he grew the athletic training staff from two athletic trainers to five. Prior to becoming the Head Athletic Trainer, Gilberti was an assistant athletic trainer at Post, for two years, through React Physical Therapy in Waterbury, Conn. In 2006-07, Gilberti was elevated to interim head athletic trainer, and in the summer of 2007, Gilberti was named head athletic trainer, and became a full-time employee at Post. Before joining React Physical Therapy, Gilberti worked for South County Physical Therapy in Worchester, Mass, where he worked with Shrewsbury High School. A 2003 graduate of Northeastern University with a bachelor's degree in athletic training, Gilberti resides in Bristol, Conn.
