PAPERWORK
November 10th, 2008 through December 12th, 2008
Opening Reception
Thursday, November 13th- 5pm to 8pm
The Walsh Gallery at Seton Hall University is pleased to announce the upcoming group thematic exhibition, PAPERWORK. The exhibition expands upon the notion of works on paper by featuring works of twenty-five international artists that experiment outside of the typical uses of a traditional artistic medium. PAPERWORK includes artworks such as books, photography, origami, sculpture, fashion, installation, cut paper, collage, sound, and drawing.
Co-curators, Erin Peters and Elen Woods, and Gallery Director, Jeanne Brasile, chose to exhibit the work of the twenty-six artists included in PAPERWORK based on their experimentation with the medium of paper, as well as their technical skill and aesthetic mastery. The artworks offer an environment for visitors to debate the connotations of what constitutes a work on paper. By using one artistic medium throughout the gallery space, the opportunity to analyze the nuances and unlimited potential of works on paper is more apparent.
