T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains (TIGIT) is a type 1 transmembrane protein containing an IgV extracellular domain and an immunoglobulin tail tyrosine (ITT)-like phosphorylation motif followed by an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) in the cytoplasmic tail. Similar to PD-1, TIM3, and LAG3, TIGIT is upregulated on exhausted T cells in both chronic viral infections and cancer.
