The stem cell is a kind of undifferentiated cells which can differentiate into specialized cells and can divide to produce more stem cells. They have been found in multi organisms. Two broad types of stem cells exist in mammals: embryonic stem cells isolated from the inner cell mass of blastocysts, and adult stem cells. In adult organisms, stem cells and progenitor cells play a role in repair system for the body.
